Do you want to re-vamp the challenge?

So here is what I'm thinking...

Starting January 3rd we weigh in and challenge ourselves weekly to meet a goal.  The first goal could be to go to the gym 4 times that week and doing at least 20 minutes of cardio each time.  During the week we can blog about what we are eating, healthy recipes we're trying, and the workouts we are doing.  Do you think we should keep up with weekly weigh ins or do it on a monthly basis?

Friday!!

What a week it has been!  New job, tummy issues, and our second weigh in!!  I'm clocking in at 195 pounds.


I was thinking about my blog from yesterday and I don't want to waste anymore time not working out.  My trainer says that if you don't workout for 10-14 days your body has to be re-trained.  He suggested taking the weekend to ease back into my training and that way come Monday I'm ready to start my workout/training program again.  Here is my schedule for the new few days:



Friday-30 minutes cardio(dog walk if weather permits or treadmill) 
Saturday-30 minutes cardio & 4 weight training workouts
Sunday-Apple/Pumpkin picking

Starting Monday I will be back to 10-15 minutes cardio combined with weight training 4 times a week.  I am also hoping to start walking for a little bit of my lunch hour, even if its just a loop around the buildings.  Watch out my next weigh in is going to knock your socks off!

TSB Challenge


In a quest to be TSBs, PP and Roxy will embark on an 8-week challenge (10/1 through 12/3) to see who can lose the largest percentage of body weight. Must work out a minimum of three days a week to qualify. Winner receives a gift certificate for a mani and/or pedi (max. $30). Weekly check-ins will be on Friday mornings.

 October 1, 2010 - Day one of the challenge! This is the point when the blog was put offline.  I don't remember much of Friday or Saturday...it was moderately healthy (a bowl of ice cream on Saturday) and I walked 4 miles on Saturday.

Overall thoughts on the day:
I feel bloated from the two slices of apple pie (with ice cream!) that I had last night, but I feel empowered in knowing that I am starting today on my journey to well-being and good health. I love fresh starts (but not more than apple pie...yet!). When I eat well, I feel good and I know tomorrow will be a great day! I also ate more calories than I had hoped, but I know I need to incorporate lower calorie snacks (veggies/hummus, etc.) that will keep me full and under my calories allotted for each day.

I gave today an 8 because I ate very well (more calories than i had hoped) but I wish I had incorporated more protein and cut back on the processed/pre -packaged foods (i.e. soup and granola bar). They're healthy options, but I would prefer I eat more fresh, wholesome meals. I'm glad I was able to get in a serving of fish and greens!
